Interbank electronic funds transfer (EFT) services has been hit by a technical glitch and is currently unavailable, the central bank sources said on Thursday.
Two central bank data centres have been facing difficulties in connection which led to the problem and delayed the EFT service resumption.
Banks started facing the problem from April 13.
The country is currently under a 7-day strict lockdown to curb the spread of COVID-19. All government and private offices are remaining closed as per restrictions.
The central bank has however asked all banks to operate on a limited scale during lockdown and banks are now open from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm during this restriction period.
