SIBL chairman Mahbub, AMD Yeahia resign

Private commercial Social Islami Bank Ltd (SIBL) Chairman Md Mahbub ul Alam and Additional Managing Director Abu Reza Md Yeahia have resigned from their respective positions.

After submitting his resignation letter, Md Mahbub ul Alam left the country last week. Half a dozen officials of the bank, on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the matter to the Business Post on Monday.

Abu Reza Md Yeahia submitted his resignation on Sunday and he has not attended work since then, the officials also said.

The Business Post tried to reach both Md Mahbub ul Alam and Abu Reza Md Yeahia over phone, but their phones were found switched off. SIBL Managing Director Zafar Alam also did not respond to phone calls despite repeated attempts.
