The Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday asked all non-bank financial institutions to refrain from sending or receiving postal goods through unlicensed courier companies.
The central bank issued a notice saying that accepting, transporting and distributing postal goods through unlicensed mailing operators and courier service companies is illegal as per the ‘Mailing Operator and Courier Service Rules, 2013’.
The notice was issued under section 18 (cha) of the financial institution law, 1993. The directive will be effective immediately, BB said.
