Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra: Best hardware with futuristic design

Xiaomi’s latest “Ultra” version smartphone is one of the premium gadgets of this flagship. Gadget lovers are saying that Xiaomi has pulled off an impressive feat but it’s not perfect. This review will be a little help for those who are planning to buy an up-to-date device.

Design

To some extent the outlook is futuristic. For the millennials, this is unquestionably the most premium smartphone Xiaomi has ever designed.

The ceramic back on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is a bit of a fingerprint magnet. It’s slightly curved on all edges of the phone and sits nicely in the hand. The ceramic back of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is an addition to comfort and feeling over the Mi Mix 2S, the last Xiaomi device I used with a ceramic back. It means you need to be careful of both sides of the phone when you drop it, but it looks good and also allows for wireless charging, so it does have a purpose.

The most insane part of it all is the screen on the back of the display, which you can use to see the time, your battery level, some notifications, and even control your music.

This is unquestionably the most premium smartphone Xiaomi has ever designed.

Battery

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is a gigantic phone with a power-hungry display and processor to match. The 5,000 mAh battery handles more or less everything I throw at it, getting me just through to the end of the day after heavy usage.

Camera

The Mi 11 Ultra comes with some serious imaging hardware - it’s got the most advanced camera system on a Xiaomi phone. Like other Xiaomi devices it has three cameras.

The primary camera marks the debut of Samsung’s latest high-end sensor, the GN2. The GN2 has 8160x6120px (or 50MP) and each of them with a size of 1.4µm. A Tetrapixel colour filter array means you get 4-in-1 binning, huge 2.8µm resultant pixels, and 12.5 mega pixel images by default.

It’s one of the ultra-widest ones out there, with Xiaomi promising a 128-degree field of view. It’s in fact so wide that the software distortion correction doesn’t quite result in straight lines.

The tele lens has 48-megapixel camera with 1/2-inch sensor and F/4.1 aperture.

The reviewer thinks this is one of the best Xiaomi cameras on a smartphone (and the video quality is very good), but there are times where it definitely does better. Xiaomi poised the Mi 11 Ultra as a DSLR competitor.

Performance, storage speed, and gaming: The sustained performance of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has impressed many people. The storage speed also won’t be a bottleneck for your favourite games and apps, as the UFS 3.1 storage is as quick as you’d expect.

Gaming on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is a pleasure, even if it isn’t a gaming phone. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 can handle everything you throw at it and with very few games on the Google Play Store it is capable of pushing the chip to its limits.

In conclusion, this can be said that Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is the most feature-packed and top-of-the-line smartphone.
