BIWTA working to protect riverine Bangladesh

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury on Friday said the concerned officials of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) are working relentlessly to protect the rivers from further degradation to maintain environmental balance.

“BIWTA officials are working relentlessly for protecting the Riverine Bangladesh,” the state minister said while inaugurating BIWTA’s annual sports competition-2024 at the Dhaka University playground here this morning.

BIWTA’s Chairman Commodore Arif Ahmed Mostafa, BIWTA’s member (Engineer) Mohammad Monwar Uz Zaman, member (planning and operation) M Selim Fakir, member (finance) Commander M Rafiul Hasain (retd), Annual sports competition convener M Sajidur Rahman and divisional heads, among others, participated in the competition.
