Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted light to moderate rains or thundershowers in eight divisions, including Dhaka, over 24 hours starting from 9am on Tuesday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at most places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet; at many places in Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal; and at a few places in Rajshahi with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places across the country,” said a regular BMD bulletin.
The highest 162mm rainfall was recorded in Sylhet in 24 hours till 6am.
Daytime temperatures may fall slightly, and nighttime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.
The country’s highest temperature was recorded at 35.8 degrees Celsius on Monday in Khulna’s Mongla.
Meanwhile, monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over north Bay.
