Bangladesh Meteorological Department predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over two divisions, at a few places over five divisions and one or two places over Rangpur division with moderately heavy falls at places over two divisions of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am on Saturday.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions and one or two places over Rangpur division with moderately heavy falls at places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," said the weather bulletin issued on Saturday morning, reports BSS.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
The low over west-central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay persists. It is likely to intensify. The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay, the bulletin added.
The country's maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 36.5 degrees Celsius jointly at Bogura, Tarash, and Sylhet and minimum temperature today was recorded at 24.4 degrees Celsius at Sandwip.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6 am today was recorded at 96 millimetres (mm) at Sandwip.
