Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rains or thundershowers in all divisions, including Dhaka, over 24 hours starting from 9am Tuesday.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet, at a few places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country," said a Met Office bulletin.
The weather office recorded the highest 48mm rainfall in Patuakhali.
Meanwhile, a mild heatwave is sweeping over Khulna and the district of Rajshahi, and it may continue.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country, as per the bulletin.
The country’s highest temperature was recorded at 37.6 degrees Celsius in Jashore while the lowest temperature was recorded at 23.5 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur and Chattogram's Kutubdia.
Besides, a trough of low lies over India's West Bengal to north Bay across the southwestern part of Bangladesh.
The monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over north Bay.
