Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rains or thundershowers in Dhaka and some other divisions in 24 hours from 9am on Saturday.

According to the Met Office, “Rains or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind speed of 30-40kph to occur at many places over Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh & Sylhet and at a few places over Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram with hails at isolated places over the country.

The inland river ports have been asked to hoist cautionary signal No 1 from morning to 1pm Saturday.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The country’s maximum temperature on Friday was recorded by 35.6 degrees Celsius at Dhaka and the minimum temperature was recorded by 21 degrees Celsius at Bogura.

The sun sets at 06.40pm on Saturday and rises at 05.12am on Sunday in the capital.
