Salim Rahman has been elected chairman and Abu Naser Mohammad Yeahea vice-chairman of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited.

The decision was taken at the bank’s 362nd board of directors meeting held on Monday, said a press release. Salim’s father Khalilur Rahman is a prominent businessman and the founder of KDS Group, one of the largest industrial groups of the country.

Salim is the managing director of KDS Group, which consists of KDS Garments Industries Ltd, KDS Accessories Ltd, KDS Apparels Ltd, KDS Logistics Ltd, KDS IDR Ltd, KDS Textiles Ltd, KYCR Coil Industries Ltd, Steel Accessories Ltd, KDS Poly Industries Ltd.

He held the position of a director at another private bank for 15 years before joining as a director of AIBL.

Salim completed his Master’s in Business Administration degree from the United States.

Abu Naser’s father AKM Abu Taher was a renowned industrialist and the former chairman of National Bank.

Abu Naser entered into business and industrial management in 1993 after completing his education in the US.
