N. Mohammad Plastic Industry has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) for establishing facility at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar (BSMSN).
Executive Chairman of BEZA, Shaikh Yusuf Harun and other high officials of the body were present at the deal signing ceremony held in the capital on Wednesday.
N. Mohammad Plastic plans to set up a factory on ten acres of land and invest $51.22 million to produce plastic products. The company plans to produce PVC furniture, HDPE pipe and fittings, WPC and PVC door, flexible packaging and molds.
The company said that it plans to 1600 people in the new facility.
Executive Chairman of BEZA on the occasion said that they are not only trying to facilitate factory set-up in the economic zone, rather it is also trying to create skilled manpower. BEZA is relentlessly working in this regard, he said.
BSMSN has underwent development and now the progress is visible, he added.
BEZA executive member Mohammad Ali Ahsan and N. Mohammad Plastic Industry’s Managing Director Nazrul Hoq signed the agreement.
The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar is being set up on a land of 30000 acres in three upazilas, Mrisarai, Sitakundu and Sonagazi of Chattogram and Feni.
For BSMSN, BEZA would like to build strong partnership with the private sector and local entrepreneurs. BEZA is in the process of developing a comprehensive master plan for developing this self-contained industrial city including, incorporating sea port, rail connectivity, marine drive, residential area, tourism park, power plant, hospital, school and university, BEZA website said.
