Different corporate houses and organisations paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, marking the National Mourning Day and the 46th anniversary of his martyrdom.

Various corporate houses took elaborate programmes to observe the day with due respect and solemnity, maintaining health guidelines on Sunday.

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited observed the National Mourning Day in befitting manner.

Mohammed Monirul Moula, Managing Director and CEO of the bank placed floral wreath at the memorial of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi 32, said a press release.

Muhammad Qaisar Ali and Md. Omar Faruk Khan, Additional Managing Directors, Abu Reza Md. Yeahia, J.Q.M. Habibullah, FCS and Md. Mostafizur Rahman Siddiquee, Deputy Managing Directors, Md. Mahboob Alam, Senior Executive Vice President, executives, officials and employees of head office of the bank were present on the occasion.

Eastern Bank Ltd organised a tree plantation programme in Dhaka to observe the National Mourning Day.

Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director and CEO along with senior officials of the bank took part in the tree plantation programme held at Bashundhara Residential Area on Sunday, said a press release. Saplings of different varieties of mangos were planted to mark the day.

Underpinning the importance of preserving the nature, Ali Reza Iftekhar said,” We thought planting trees would be a better way of paying homage to the memory of Bangabandhu, who dreamt of a green Bangladesh and initiated tree plantation campaigns in the country soon after the Independence.”

The Board of Directors of Prime Bank Limited took a resolution on National Mourning Day on the occasion of the 46th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The condolence note resolution was adopted at the 517th Meeting of the Board held recently. Tanjil Chowdhury, Chairman of the bank, presided over the meeting. At the meeting, the board of directors discussed about life and works and achievements of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his contribution to Bangladesh.

As a token of respect, the directors and officials of the bank used a special virtual background with the theme of National Mourning Day in the meeting held through digital platform. As part of the observance of National Mourning Day on August 15, 2021, the bank undertook a number of activities throughout the month of August.

Chartered Life Insurance Company organised a discussion and special prayer to observe the National Mourning Day.

Chief Executive Officer of Chartered Life Insurance Company S. M. Ziaul Hoque was present at the event as the chief discussant. Chartered Life DMD Md Emdad Ullah, CFO Md Manjur Ahammad and CS Md Mizanur Rahman were present at the event as special discussants.
