Employees of BRAC Bank have contributed to the fund of 'Dakchhe Abar Desh', a Covid response initiative.

They contributed an amount of Tk 1.65 crore from their monthly pay to the fund, said a press release. The fund will facilitate more than 11,000 families with necessary food items and meet other needs for at least two weeks.

This came after BRAC Bank contributed Tk 4.54 crore to the cause. Around 30,267 families have been benefited from BRAC Bank's contribution during the first two weeks of August.

"I am delighted that our employees can be an active and valuable part of our value-based banking agenda. It is for the second time in two years of the pandemic, our people have come forward to support the underprivileged on top of their endowments", said M Masud Rana, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of the bank.

Last year, the employees of the bank had contributed 1.73 crore taka to BRAC’s ‘Covid-19: Emergency food assistance” fund.
