Marico hands over Tk 2.20cr to labour welfare fund

Marico Bangladesh Limited has handed over Tk 2.20 crore to the Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Employment for the welfare of workers.

A four-member delegation led by Marico Bangladesh Legal and Corporate Affairs Director Cristabel Randolph handed over the cheque to State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian at the secretariat in the capital on Wednesday. Around 209 local, foreign and multinational companies, including Marico Bangladesh, have been regularly contributing a certain portion of their dividends to this fund which is increasing every month. About Tk 569 crore has been deposited in the fund till date.

Additional Secretary and Director General of Bangladesh Worker Welfare Foundation Begum Jebunnesa Karim, Marico Bangladesh Chief Financial Officer Elias Ahmed, Head of Accounting Atiar Rahman, Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager Akib Al Rabbi and other senior officials of the ministry and the company, among others, were present on the occassion.
