‘AmiProbashi’ changes Bangladeshi migrants’ lives

‘AmiProbashi’, a digital platform that guides and facilitates Bangladeshi citizens who wish to pursue their dream of working abroad, has changed the life of Bangladeshi migrants and expatriates.

Within just few months of its launch, the app has been downloaded by over 950 thousand users till now and achieved significant milestones, said a media release on Saturday.

Over 4 lakhs BMET registrations

The app has crossed over 429,160 successful BMET registrations which is 44 per cent of the total AmiProbashi registered users. The app provides BMET registration, passport validation, prioritized Covid vaccine registration facility and other features for the community. The app ensures data safety, efficiency and transparency in the process, reducing the complication and cost of finding job opportunities abroad.

24/7 online registration facility

By having a smartphone and internet connection one can register at home and avail all the services offered by the app has also saved travel time and hassle for the migrants. During strict lockdown period under this pandemic situation over 250 thousand outbound expatriates completed their BMET registration successfully during the 40 days of strict lockdown period from July 1, 2021 to August 10, 2021 from their home which sets a record.

24/7 online passport validation facility

This app made passport validation so seamless through automated channel. While physical registration at DEMO centers are done during office hours on the working days, people were able to complete their registration 24x7 including weekends and government holidays using AmiProbashi by utilizing the off peak hour link capacity of passport verification channel.

Prioritized 2 step COVID vaccine registration facility

In this time of pandemic situation when the government announced that BMET registration would be necessary as a prerequisite for priority vaccines for aspiring migrants, ‘AmiProbashi’ played a key role in ensuring that migrant laborers receive emergency 2 step COVID vaccine registration through its digital platform.

A trusted road map for the aspiring migrants

Through the app, Bangladeshis willing to work abroad gets to know step by step processes starting from how to start the migration journey till his arrival at his destination. They can complete their applications, search for relevant jobs, connect to government-approved agents, and avail airport assistance features, authorized medical centers, job postings, nearby passport offices, nearby DEMO offices amongst a host of other services.

A pool of potential migrant workers

AmiProbashi provides the key stakeholders including government entities covering ministry, BMET, BOESL and others in the ecosystem like recruiting agencies and overseas employers a pool of potential migrant workers including their skills and interests who can be reached and accessed anytime for any potential recruitment.

AmiProbashi projects to double the foreign remittance inflow through legal channel upon integration of cross border payment transfer feature which reduces migration cost significantly by ensuring access to information to mass level through AmiProbashi My Information feature. It has the automated API to verify customer identity with valid passports that ensures user identity for future value-added services like mobile financial services and remittance.
