BTCL pays Tk 13.7cr to BTRC for IGW revenue sharing

BTCL pays Tk 13.7cr to BTRC for IGW revenue sharing

Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Ltd., a state-owned company, has paid Tk 13 crore 70 lakh 48 thousand to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission for International Gateway revenue sharing.

The check was handed over to BTRC chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder on Sunday. Senior officials of BTRC and BTCL were present at that time.

According to the government’s audit department, BTRC’s issue-based audit of revenue collection for the period 2016-17 to 2019-20 fiscal year, BTCL has to pay Tk 529.40 crore as IGW operator till June 2020.

As part of this arrear, the money has been paid for IGW revenue sharing.
