Bangladesh will overcome all challenges through public-private partnership (PPP) and continue moving forward in the coming days, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCC) President Md Jashim Uddin has said.

He made the remarks at an event on Saturday in the United States organised by Muktadhara Foundation, a New York-based non-profit literary-cultural platform of Bangla speakers to mark the Bangladeshi Immigrant Day, according to a statement.

He said the government and the private sector are now working hand in hand identifying the existing challenges to fulfill Bangabandhu’s dream of a golden Bengal.

The foundation of Bangladesh’s economic and trade expansion was laid by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said the FBCCI president.

“Bangabandhu, in his historic speech in Bengali at the United Nations, called for building a peaceful world by ensuring economic emancipation and social justice. Through his prudent and far-sighted thinking, Bangabandhu set out to build Bangladesh’s political, economic, technical, and international trade relations with important countries of the world,” he said.

He recalled the tremendous advancement of Bangladesh under the government led by Bangabandhu and said Bangladesh became a member of the United Nations, UNCTAD, Commonwealth, OIC, IDB, and NAM during the period.

“Through this, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman laid a sustainable base for the economic and trade expansion of the country,” said Jashim.

“Through digitisation, industrialization, human resource, and infrastructural development, Bangladesh is now one of the fastest-growing economies in the world,” he said.

He said, “When Bangabandhu was leading the nation towards fulfilling the dream of hunger and poverty-free Bangladesh through far-reaching planning and strong leadership, he was killed through the most brutal conspiracy in the history of the world.”

Bangladesh has qualified for the up-gradation from a least developed country to a developing one under the visionary leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, FBCCI Senior Vice President Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, its Vice President Salahuddin Alamgir and Former President Md Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), BGMEA President Faruque Hassan, among others, also attended the event.
