Mercantile Bank to stay close for five days

All banking services of Mercantile Bank Limited will remain suspended from October 1 to October 5, due to the upgradation of its Core Banking Software T-24.

The closure was duly approved by the Bangladesh Bank, the bank said in a press release on Sunday.

During this period, all kinds of banking services including ATM booth, Debit Card services, Internet Banking, Digital Banking (MBL Rainbow), Islamic Banking and Agent banking will remain suspended, it said.

However, Credit and Prepaid Cardholders of the bank would be able to withdraw cash using other banks’ ATMs and make the payment at the Merchant Points, it added, the release read, adding that mobile banking services of the bank (My Cash) will also remain active during this time.

Mercantile Bank’s (MBL) Managing Director and CEO Md Quamrul Islam Chowdhury apologised for every upcoming inconvenience due to this software upgradation.

MBL would be able to ensure more secured and efficient banking services to its customers after the upgradation, he said.

Banking services with different Islamic Banking Windows. It currently operates 187 ATM Booths, 20 CDMs and 126 Agent Banking outlets countrywide to facilitate superior banking services.
