Westin Dhaka on Monday conducted a cleaning drive on its surroundings marking World Tourism Day.

The drive took place with all associates, Head of Departments, Hotel Manager and General Manager actively taking part in the cleaning process, said a press release.

“During these unprecedented times, it is our duty to come forward for the community” said Daniel Muhor, General Manager of The Westin Dhaka.

The campaign is part of Marriott International’s Serve 360 initiative which promises to make a sustainable and positive impact wherever Marriott International does business.

World Tourism Day is celebrated each year on September 27 to spread awareness about the importance of tourism and its impact on our society.

‘Tourism for Inclusive Growth’ is the theme for World Tourism Day 2021.

It portrays the awareness of tourism’s social, cultural value and the contribution that the sector can make towards reaching the sustainable development goals.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a massive social and economic impact. Both developed and developing economies have been hit. And marginalized groups and the most vulnerable have been hit hardest of all.

The restart of tourism will help kick start recovery and growth. Westin Hotels & Resorts is a leader in wellness and hospitality for more than a decade. It has more than 200 hotels and resorts in nearly 40 countries and territories.
