Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN) and COMSTECH Inter-Islamic Network on Virtual Universities (CINVU).
BUHS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Faridul Alam, Founder President of USERN Prof Dr Nima Rezaei and Secretary General of CINVU Karim Najafi Barzegar signed the MoUs, said a press release.
The two MoUs aim to create more opportunities and possibilities for their respective organisations in the Muslim world through mutual cooperation, institutional partnership, formulation and management of joint action plans in education and research and exchange and development of science and information technology knowledge.
Dr Faridul Alam signed the MoUs during a three-day visit to Tehran to attended the Mustafa Prize-2021 ceremony in Tehran, Iran.
The prize was presented to the winners on October 21, 2021 at the Vahdat Hall in Tehran, the capital of Iran, in the presence of thousands of eminent scientists and academics from the
Muslim world.
This year, Mustafa Prize known as the Muslim Nobel is awarded to five world-renowned scientists in recognition of their outstanding contributions to education, science and research.
Professor Zahid Hasan, a Bangladeshi citizen and a teacher at Princeton University, is one of the award winners, read the release.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Faridul Alam among other eminent personalities of various eminent universities of the Muslim world was present on the stage and took part in distributing prizes among the winners.
At the invitation of the Mustafa Foundation, Faridul Alam joined the event and congratulated the award winners. He conveyed his best wishes to Professor Zahid Hasan as a Bangladeshi citizen for carrying a special status for the country in the international arena by receiving the prestigious award.
