BFIU, BRAC Bank organise AML/CFT training

Specialists of Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), with support from BRAC Bank, have organised a daylong training session on 'Prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing' in order to enable the banking professionals to handle the subject better.

The daylong training programme was held at the Medha Onushilon Kendra of Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) in Thakurgaon on October 30, BRAC Bank said in a statement on Monday. 

A total of 60 banking professionals from 22 banks participated in the workshop. BRAC Bank was the Lead Bank to organise the training session in Thakurgaon for the nominated banking professionals from Panchagarh and Thakurgaon districts.

BFIU General Manager ABM Zahurul Huda graced the occasion as the chief guest while BRAC Bank DMD and CAMLCO Chowdhury Moinul Islam chaired the session.

Chowdhury Moinul Islam said, "It is a great opportunity for the regional banking professionals to learn and understand the importance of AML/CFT from some of the country's great resource persons of BFIU.”
