‘More people to be entrepreneur to beat unemployment’

NRBC Bank Chairman SM Parvez Tamal said more people will have to be entrepreneur to beat country’s unemployment problem and to spearhead the economy.

He came up with the observation while speaking weeklong “Bangabandhu Jubomela” on Wednesday, the bank said in a media statement on Wednesday.

Parvez Tamal said, “One third of the total population of Bangladesh is youth generation. But maximum of these people are unemployed. To beat unemployment problem, more people have to be entrepreneur. The commercial banks are coming forward with different schemes to promote entrepreneurship. The economy of the country will be more stable and dynamic if the number of youth entrepreneurs increases,” he said.

Director General of the Youth Development Department Azharul Islam Khan was present in the programme at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Five entrepreneurs were given loan during the programme. Parvez Tamal and Azharul Islam handed over the prizes and checks among the participants.

Tamal said, “NRBC Bank is ready to use the youth power of the country. We are financing the young people from distant corner of the country. New and women entrepreneurs are getting priority from our bank. We have introduced loan facilities for the marginalised people without security.”
