The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) celebrated International Accounting Day on Wednesday some special activities and programmes.
Marking the day, the ICMAB arranged a gathering in its official building and roamed around the institute arena. Office bearers, former presidents, council members, members, students and institutes employees attended in this occasion. Later in the evening, a discussion programme was held in the ICMAB
auditorium.
Planning Minister MA Manna graced the occasion attending as the chief guest while Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury and SAFA President and former ICMAB President and Council Member AKM Delwer Hussain were present as special guest.
ICMAB President Abu Bakar Siddique presided over the meeting, said a media statement on Thursday.
The planning minister highlighted the worldwide demand for this profession. He highlighted the need for CMA professionals in terms of fair spending.
ICMAB is a member of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA). The Ministry of Commerce is the administrative ministry of this institute.
