Synesis IT Limited has received the Global ICT Excellence Award from the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) for its outstanding contribution to the country’s health sector.

The global consortium of associations from the information and communications technology industry conferred the award to the only Bangladeshi tech firm under the "Innovative e-Health Solution Award - Private Sector" category, said a press release.

On the third day of the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT 2021) held in Dhaka, Synesis IT Managing Director Sohrab Ahmed Chowdhury on Saturday received the award from Bangladesh Computer Society Chairman Shahid-ul-Munir.

Synesis IT Director Abdur Rashid and Assistant General Manager Quazi Abdullah Al-Mamun were also present at this ceremony.

The award was given in recognition of the firm’s leadership in the formulation and implementation of Digital Bangladesh's programme and its unique role in improving the quality of life of the people through the use of information technology.

In order to bring digital health services to the doorsteps of the people of the country, the call center of the National Health Service "Shastho Batayon 16263" was officially launched in 2016.

Until now, Shastho Batayon has stood beside the people by providing health services to about 19 million individuals.

At the time of the Corona epidemic, when there was no adequate medical care in the hospital, the Shastho Batayon provided medical advices to around 13 million people.

Synesis IT Limited, a leading IT company in Bangladesh, has received the "WITSA Global ICT Excellence Award 2021" in the "Innovative e-Health Solution Award - Private Sector" category.

This year, only Synesis IT from Bangladesh won the "First Place Winner" medal.

The World Information Technology and Services Alliance, an organization of 70 countries worldwide, presented the Olympic Prize for Information Technology, WITSA 2021.

Apart from Bangladesh, various organizations and initiatives from Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Hong Kong, Nepal, Taiwan, Greece, Russia, etc., have been awarded in different categories.
