Online marketplace Daraz Bangladesh has won the Mastercard Excellence Award in the Excellence in Mastercard Business (Merchant) – Online 2020-21 category.
To celebrate the 30 years of its operations in Bangladesh and 50 years of the country’s independence, Mastercard organised the award programme at a private hotel in Dhaka on November 18, said a press release.
Planning Minister MA Mannan attended the event as chief guest while Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Md Khurshid Alam joined it as special guest and Charge d’affairs at US Embassy in Dhaka Helen LaFave as guest of honour.
Other senior officials from partner banks, fintech partners, dignitaries, and merchants also attended the function.
Daraz Bangladesh Chief Operating Officer Khondoker Tasfin Alam received the award from the minister on behalf of the organisation.
