1,035 km railway launched with Huawei’s 5G technology

The 1,035 kilometers long Laos-China railway was launched recently with the support of Huawei’s 5G technology and smart railway solution.

To celebrate the grand opening of the Laos-China Railway, an event was organised where the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and the Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Laos President Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party were present virtually, said a press release.

This Laos-China Railway is of great significance to bilateral economic, social, and cultural exchanges as well as regional connectivity and makes contributions to regional development and prosperity. Traveling from the China-Laos border to the Vientiane capital has shortened from two days to three hours. Departing from Kunming and arriving in Vientiane can now be achieved on the same day.
