ICMAB holds session on taxation in Chattogram

The Chattogram Branch Council (CBC) of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) held a session on taxation on Monday.

The CPD event, titled “Taxation – Reporting and Compliance as per IAS-12 and ITO-1984” was held at the CMA Bhaban in Chattogram, read a media release.

According to the release, CBC Chairman Mohammad Arif inaugurated the programme where Mohammad Yeassin, director general (joint secretary) of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), joined as chief guest.

Sobhit Bikash Barua, executive director (Finance & Accounts) of PHP Family, presided over the session.

In his speech, BIDA DG Mohammad Yeassin said the government has already formatted investment oriented Tax rules and regulations for all kinds of businessmen and entrepreneurs.

He expressed optimism that CMA professionals would contribute to achieve SDGs of government.

Sobhit Bikash Barua moderated the question and answer session. He thanked CBC for arranging such a time-befitting session and said such arrangements enhance the professionals’ skills.

Abu Naser Mohammad Helal, head of Finance and Accounts of Midas Safety, and Md Aminul Islam, senior manager (Finance & Accounts) of GPH Ispat Limited, presented key papers on various updated rules, regulations and explanations.
