India’s Exim Bank official meets Chattogram mayor

The local representative of India’s Exim Bank, Alok Bora, has briefed Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury about the progress of the city’s ongoing LED light installment project.

The project is being implemented to enlighten the port city with a Tk 214 crore fund of India provided by the Exim Bank.

The Exim Bank official met the CCC mayor at the latter’s residence in Chattogram on Friday evening, said a press release on Monday.

Alok Bora apprised him of current situation and various aspects of the installation project of LED lights along a 466km stretch of city roads. Project Director Jhulan Kumar Das was also present during the meeting.

Mayor Rezaul thanked the Indian Govt for loan assistance and said it would strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The estimated cost of the project is Tk 260 crore. India would assist the project with a loan of more than Tk 214 crores. The rest of the project would be financed by the Bangladesh government.

The project would facilitate the placement of 20,600 LED lights, said Alok Bora.
