Syed Akhter joins CUB

Professor Syed Akhter Hossain joined as the Dean, School of Science and Engineering and Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Canadian University of Bangladesh on Saturday.

Prior to joining Canadian University of Bangladesh, Hossain served as the Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at ULAB from January 1, 2021 and Daffodil International University from 2010 to December, 2020, said a press release.

Apart from this, he contributed significantly at East West University as Chairman of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department more than five years and developed ERP and automations of the university.

Hossain obtained B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Applied Physics in 1989 and 1991 from Rajshahi University gradually. He obtained Gold medal for the first place in faculty of Applied Science in the undergraduate. He earned Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Dhaka in 2008.
