ECP-MSS to arrange free eye screening camps

The Eye Care Programme of Manabik Shahajya Sangstha (ECP-MSS) is set to hold free eye screening camps in different areas of the country in the current month, to prevent avoidable blindness among the underprivileged people.

Under the arrangement, comprehensive eye care services, including free cataract surgeries, will be provided through six eye screening camps from January 8 to 29, said a press release on Thursday.

The free eye treatment will be provided on January 8 at Buraburi Union Parishad (UP) of Tetulia, Panchagarh; on January 11 at Paria UP of Baliadangi, Thakurgaon; on January 18 at Kajal Dighi Kaliaganj UP of Boda, Panchagarh; on January 22 at Salmara Vitargarh High School, Panchagarh sadar, Panchagarh; on January 25 at Shibrampur UP, Birganj, Dinajpur and on January 29 at Bahadur Hat Girls’ High School, Bahadur Hat, Birganj, Dinajpur with the technical support of the organizations’ partner hospitals, according to the release.

In addition to providing free eye screening services, eye glasses, medicines, masks and awareness flyers and posters highlighting basic eye care tips will be distributed to the underserved people from 10 am to 2 pm on the

camp days.
