FBCCI distributes blankets in Dhaka

The FBCCI has distributed blankets in the capital to alleviate the winter sufferings of low-income people.

Jashim Uddin, president of the organisation, distributed blankets among the cold-stricken people at Islambagh Eidgah ground in the old part of Dhaka and at the playground of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute in Tejgaon on Saturday, said a media statement.

Speaking at the distribution programme, the FBCCI boss said, “FBCCI is distributing blankets among the cold-hit people as part of its social responsibility in addition to promoting trade and investment in the country. Such activities of the apex trade body will make other organisations and businessmen eager to take initiative to lessen the marginal people’s sufferings of the society.”

The low-income people who received the blankets said the FBCCI's initiative would alleviate the hardships of the winter.

FBCCI vice-presidents -- Md. Amin Helaly, Md. Habib Ullah Dawn, MA Razzak Khan Raj and directors -- Bijoy Kumar Kejriwal, Harun Or Roshid, Abu Motaleb, Mohammed Bazlur Rahman and SM Jahangir Alam Manik – were present in the programme.

Earlier, on January 11, Jashim Uddin inaugurated the nationwide winter clothes distribution ceremony, which is being distributed by different district chambers.
