Desh General Insurance gets new CEO

Mohammodi Khanam has recently joined the Desh General Insurance Company Limited as its chief executive officer (CEO).

Prior to her latest appointment, she was the managing director and CEO of Prime Insurance Company Limited, said a press release.

Ms Khanam completed her graduation and post-graduation from the Department of Economics of Dhaka University. She also completed professional diploma in general insurance from Bangladesh Insurance Academy.

In her personal initiative she had introduced a number of useful insurance products -- like Hajj and Omrah Insurance, Health Insurance and Bankers Blanket Bond -- with the approval of Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA).

Ms. Khanam started her career as a trainee executive officer in Peoples Insurance Company Limited in 1988.
