Standard Chartered Bangladesh has partnered with the charitable hospital Chattogram Maa-Shishu O General Hospital to ensure a reliable and adequate supply of life-saving oxygen.
Under this partnership, Standard Chartered Bangladesh has donated a Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) medical oxygen generation plant, enabling the hospital to become self-sufficient with a dedicated oxygen supply. The total installed capacity of the plant is 436 liters/minute.
This is the first medical oxygen plant donated by a bank in Bangladesh. Previously, the bank had announced plans to donate medical oxygen donation plants to three charitable hospitals, including Maa-Shishu O General Hospital. The total installed capacity of these plants will exceed 1,700 liters/minute.
Standard Chartered Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer Naser Ezaz Bijoy and Head, Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing Bitopi Das Chowdhury, Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry President Mahbubul Alam, Chattogram Maa-Shishu O General Hospital Executive Committee President Prof MA Taher Khan, among others, were present at the inauguration ceremony held on Thursday.
On the occasion, Naser Ezaz Bijoy said, “The stark realities of Covid-19 had laid bare the fault lines in our communities.
