BGIC elects Nasir Uddin Chowdhury as independent director

Bangladesh General Insurance Company (BGIC) Limited’s Board of Directors elected Nasir Uddin Chowdhury as its independent director in their 192nd meeting recently, BGIC said in a statement.

Nasir Uddin Chowdhury holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Chittagong University. He is currently the managing director of Eastern Group.

Nasir Uddin is the vice-chairman of International Business Forum of Bangladesh, the president of the Governing Body of BGMEA Institute of Fashion and Technology and the former first vice-president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA). He was also the chairman of Lions Foundation, Chittagong and former governor of International Lion District-315 B4 Bangladesh.
