Nagad, digital financial service of Bangladesh Post Office under the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication, has been named the Gold winner in the ninth edition of the Asia-Pacific Stevie Award under the category of ‘Excellence in Innovation in Financial Industries’.
More than 100 top executives from all across the world, who were serving as judges declared Nagad the Gold winner, Nagad said in a statement on Thursday.
The mobile financial service operator has been recognised with this prestigious Stevie award for its relentless efforts in bringing innovative and affordable digital payment options to customers.
Commenting on the award, Managing Director and Nagad limited Founder Tanvir A Mishuk said, “Any recognition is highly encouraging for us, and we are thrilled to receive this prestigious award. This award will undoubtedly motivate us.”
The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards are the only business awards program to recognise innovation in the workplace in all 29 nations of the Asia-Pacific region.
“The ninth edition of the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards attracted many remarkable nominations. We look forward to celebrating many of this year’s winners during our virtual awards ceremony on 29 June,” said Stevie Awards President Maggie Miller.
More than 900 nominations from organizations across the Asia-Pacific region were considered this year in categories such as Award for Excellence in Innovation in Products and Services, Award for Innovative Management and Award for Innovation in Corporate Websites, among many others.
Since its inception in 2019, Nagad won numerous awards and recognition for playing a pivotal role in the pursuit of country’s Digital Bangladesh vision. Nagad recently received the ‘Best DFS (Digital Finance Service Award) of 2021 from the UK-based Global Economics Ltd.
Other award and recognition includes, ‘Best fintech start-up for 2020’, World Information Technology and Services Alliance Global ICT Excellence Award 2020, Digital Bangladesh Fair 2020 and many more.
