Kazi Arifuzzaman receives Sony World Photography award

Rangs Electronics Limited is delighted to reveal Kazi Arifuzzaman as Bangladesh’s National Award winner for the Sony World Photography Awards 2022 organized by The World Photography Organization and Sony Bangladesh.

The National Awards program is an initiative set up by the World Photography organization and Sony to support local photographic communities around the world with 61 countries taking part this year, Rangs Electronics said in a statement on Saturday.

Over 340,000 images from 211 territories were submitted to the Sony World Photography Awards 2022 and over 170,000 were entered to the Open competition (from which the National Awards winner was selected).

Kazi Arifuzzaman was selected by judges for his photograph ‘Unified’, entered into the (Architecture) category of the Open competition. The photography depicts workers working together.

Kazi Arifuzzaman shared, “There was a time when painting was my passion. But for various reasons I had to stop painting. Even though I left the picture, I could never leave the passion of painting from my mind. So, I had chosen a similar media of my passion. Instead of painting, I started to draw pictures by camera. Thus, photography took place in my life. I want to pass the rest of my life through this practice.”

As Bangladesh’s National Award winner, Kazi Arifuzzaman received Sony digital imaging equipment ‘Sony Alpha Camera A7RM-IV and Sony 24-70mm G-Master Lens’.

Also, his photo will be included in the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition and book.
