Agrogami Panel wins 8 out of 9 seats in e-Cab elections

The Agrogami Panel has secured 8 out of 9 seats of the executive committee for the apex body of e-Commerces in Bangladesh, e-Cab.

The winning Panel members are: Abdul Wahed Tomal, Shahriar Hasan, Shomi Kaiser, Ambareen Reza, Nasima Akhter, Asif Ahnaf, Saidur Rahman and Sahab Uddin Shipon.

Foodpanda co-founder Syed Ambarin Reza got the highest number of votes (453) while Mohammad Abdul Wahed Tamal, chief executive of Kamzegat Technologies, was re-elected with 386 votes, Shomi Kaiser with 365 votes and Asif Ahnaf with 332 votes.

Besides, Shahriar Hasan, co-founder of Paperfly, got 306 votes and was elected as a new director of the 4th e-Cab Executive Committee.

Besides, Nasima Akter Nisha, CEO of Rewari got 306 votes, Mohammad Sahab Uddin, founder of Diabetes store got 287 votes and Saidur Rahman, CEO of Digital Hub got 273 votes.

From The Change Makers panel, Sheba.xyz’s candidate Ilmul Haque Sajib was also elected for the first time with 280 votes.

The voting started at 10am and ended at 4pm at Sayeedana Community Centre in the capital on Saturday.

A total of 31 candidates, from three panels and some independently, contested for 9 seats in the executive committee.

Out of 795 voters, some 611 votes (76.8 per cent of the total) cast the vote while 11 of the votes were cancelled for not following regulations.

On March 28, the election schedule was announced and 36 aspirants submitted nomination papers, but five candidates withdrew their candidature. The three-member electoral board, headed by its chairman and FBCCI Vice President Amin Helali, conducted the polls.
