SM Nazrul Islam Memorial Football Tournament held

A football tournament was held at Gosai Joair of Tangail in memory of Walton Group’s founder chairman, late Alhaj SM Nazrul Islam.

Mridul Songho organised the tournament where Pichuria Jubo Songho of Baghil Union emerged as champion, defeating the Eleven Star Club of Kalihati upazila.

The winning team was awarded a trophy, medals and Tk 1 lakh cash as prize money, while the runners-up team received Tk 50,000 and trophies and medals with Walton Group’s sponsorship.

Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzak was the chief guest of the final match that was held on Tuesday. Earlier on the day, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s Chairman SM Nurul Alam Rizvi inaugurated the final match.

SM Nazrul Islam Smrity Football Tournament has been organised since 2018 in memory of the late Alhaz SM Nazrul Islam, founder and chairman of Walton Group, the pioneer and visionary of Bangladesh’s electronics and electrical industry. He was also a very renowned industrialist and philanthropist in Bangladesh.
