Mitsubishi Power Asia Pacific and CGN Energy International Co Ltd (CGNEI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) recently to mark the establishment of a strategic partnership at the Global Gas Turbine Power Generation Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

At the event, CGNEI, with representatives of the gas turbine power generation industry, also issued the Kuala Lumpur Declaration, committing to promote the global development of the industry, said a press statement.

With the MoU, both parties expressed their commitment to leverage their respective advantages in business, technology, and resources to further expand cooperation in the development and construction of international gas turbine power generation projects. On top of that, both agreed to work together to upgrade existing gas-fired projects, adopt decarbonisation technologies, and jointly explore hydrogen and ammonia combustion technology for use in new and existing power projects.

The signing of MOU showcases Mitsubishi Power’s cooperation with leading international independent power producers in Southeast Asia to effectively drive the energy transition strategy in the region.

At the Global Gas Turbine Power Generation Summit in Kuala Lumpur, CGNEI hand in hand with all the representatives of the gas turbine power generation industry chain issued the Kuala Lumpur Declaration and ultimately committed to promoting the global high-quality development of gas turbine power generation industry.

The two-day summit was jointly held in four places, namely Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Beijing and Shenzhen, China, and Paris, France guided by China Electricity Council, hosted by CGN Energy International, Co-organised by China Electric Power Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Gas Turbine Power Generation Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering.

Government representatives, power grids, industry associations, power producers, and industry chain representatives from China, Malaysia, South Korea, Bangladesh, Egypt, Japan, Singapore, and other countries attended the event.
