Registration opens for business delegation to Indonesia

An upcoming summit titled ‘Business Delegation to Indonesia for Digital Economy, Startup Investment, and E-Commerce’ will encourage Bangladesh and Indonesia to connect deeper and deliver stronger ties in economic, trade, technology, and e-commerce regional partnerships, said speakers at a webinar on Thursday.

President of Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) Syed Almas Kabir, Head of eCommerce for a2i Rezwanul Haque Jami, Director of e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) Syeda Ambareen Reza and Chairman of Indonesia’s Good City Foundation (GCF) Kwok Ka Ming Andre were present at the registration opening event of the summit which will be held on 19-22 December 2022, said a statement.

Md Sahariar Hasan, National Consultant of a2i, moderated the event.

Industry leaders of the digital economy ecosystem of Bangladesh said cross-border summits like this upcoming one encourage countries to understand each other’s business motivations better and open enormous trade opportunities.

Speaking at the launching event, BMCCI President Syed Almas Kabir said, “The digital economy is shaping the new Bangladesh and the shared cultures, market size, and geo-economic locations demonstrate potential cooperation between both countries. Young entrepreneurs in Bangladesh can learn a lot from the journey of Indonesian startup unicorns. Similar summits can be held in other ASEAN countries to facilitate technology-driven trade and e-commerce for exploring trade and investment opportunities.”

Head of eCommerce for a2i Rezwanul Haque Jami said, “The Digital Economy Summit in Indonesia will not only focus on investment opportunities or business collaboration but will also help us learn how they are succeeding in their entrepreneurial journey.”

Focusing on the key preparations for founders to raise investment from foreign investors, e-CAB Director Syeda Ambareen Reza said, “Entrepreneurs should attend networking and business events and have a good pitch deck that describes their vision and how they will make it a reality. They should make a data room that contains their pitch deck, financial plan, and demo of their products on hand so that it can be shared with potential investors.”

The upcoming summit plan on ‘Business Delegation to Indonesia for Digital Economy, Startup Investment, and E-Commerce’ was presented by Kwok Ka Ming Andre, Chairman of GCF, the multilateral organization hosting the summit.

He said that the summit is planned to be held on December 19-22 this year. Delegates can register on both the ekShop and GCF websites. During this four-day and three-night business delegation summit, the representatives will meet with business groups, government business advisory councils, startups, and venture capitalist organisations in Indonesia’s Greater Jakarta and Bandung City.

Hosted by the GCF, with collaborations from the ekShop, a2i, Bangladesh, and Indonesian government offices, programme fees of the summit are considered $1,000 for early birds who will apply before September 15 and $1,200 for regular submission.
