The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has signed an MoU with AYAT Education and Integral Global to enhance the health and wellness of more than 30,000 garment workers in Bangladesh.
In a statement posted on Facebook, AYAT Education, a Bangladeshi organisation, said on Thursday that the purpose of the tri-party MoU is to strengthen wellness and productivity among garment workers while mitigating the spread of respiratory illness and Covid-19 across factories and communities in Bangladesh.
Nusrat Aman, CEO of AYAT Education, Faruque Hassan, BGMEA President, and Nabil Ahmed, Founder and Director of Integral Global, signed the MoU.
“This tri-party partnership will enable AYAT Education to collaborate with five garment factories to increase the basic health and hygiene awareness of the workers, motivate and assist them to complete Covid-19 vaccination (second dose and booster dose), and prepare a digital toolkit (website) with preventive measures and best industry practices for factory management,” the statement said.
