Rainbow Paints, local paint brand of consumer giant RFL Group, has begun manufacturing and selling spray paints in the country for the first time in hopes of tapping into the fast-growing local market of aerosol painting.

The company unveiled its new products - Rainbow Spray Paint- through a programme held at the RFL office in Badda in the capital on Saturday.

Addressing the event, RFL’s Managing Director RN Paul said the spray paint market in Bangladesh is growing in recent years, pushing up the product’s local market value to Tk 600 crore.

RN Paul said Bangladesh currently imports 50 lakh pieces of spray cans monthly, mostly from China.

He said, “Currently we are producing 50 per cent of the total market across the country. We expect its market value to double in the next three years and we will produce 100 per cent of the total market.”

RFL also plans to export their product after meeting local demand in Bangladesh.

Karul Hasan, executive director of Rainbow Paints said Rainbow Paints is producing and marketing spray paint in its own factory. Rainbow Spray Paint in 400 ml can is now available across the country at a maximum retail price of Tk 150 through Rainbow showrooms and authorised dealers.

“We have received good response from the customers within a short period of time for manufacturing products maintaining international standards,” he said.
