Strengthen corporate leadership to continue development: Experts

Industry leaders and experts from home and abroad have underscored the need to further develop senior corporate leadership, as it is crucial for turning the country into a developed nation.

They made the call at the Sixth Leadership Summit organised by Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) in Dhaka on Saturday.

The day-long summit, organised by the United Group and in association with Team Group, The Daily Star and Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI), was held at the Le Méridien Dhaka.

With the theme “Transformative Humane Leadership during Extraordinary Times,” the summit consisted of four panel discussions. The speakers also shared their experiences and knowledge through panel discussions and keynote sessions.

Having the vision at the core, the speakers branched out, discussing the challenges and complexities of leadership, sustainable business growth, corporate governance and organisation culture with the aspiring audiences. Opening the summit, BBF Founder and Managing Director Shariful Islam said, “As a nation, we have performed extremely well to reach middle-income status while celebrating our 50 years of independence.

“We have also set an ambitious target of becoming a developed nation by 2041. We at Bangladesh Brand Forum, driven by its vision – Inspiring the Nation – feel the urgency to focus on developing senior corporate leaders so that we can pursue and achieve the nation’s goal.” 

He also added that the summit was held to strengthen the transformative humane leadership during extraordinary times.
