55 companies getting Best Corporate Award

Best Corporate Award will be given to 55 companies under 17 categories by Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) in a ceremony on Thursday next.

The President of ICMAB revealed this information in a press conference at Capital Market Journalist Forum (CMJF) Auditorium on Monday.

Abdul Aziz the Chairman of the ICMAB Award Committee, AKM Delwar Hossain SAFA Advisor and former SAFA President, AKM. Kamruzzaman ICMAB Secretary, Ali Haider Chowdhury treasurer and other officials were present at press conference.

ICMAB official said, 28 criteria have been taken into consideration in awarding the ICMAB Best Corporate Award from 165 companies applied for the Award. In 17 categories, 55 companies will be given bronze, silver and gold as awards.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi will be present as the chief guest at award giving ceremony at Hotel InterContinental in the capital. Besides, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Professor Shibli Rubaiah-ul-Islam will be present as a special guest. Companies listed in the capital market have been taken into consideration while giving awards. Apart from this, awards are also being given to NGOs.

Mamunur Rashid President of ICMAB said, “ among the listed companies, we give priority to those companies whose market capitalization is high. Here the acceptability and credibility of information is a matter. We find that well-structured companies have higher disclosure or information credibility. We have selected 17 sectors so far, taking into consideration several criteria.”
