9 Bangladeshi students bag ‘Top in the World’ awards

Nine students have won ‘Top in the World’ awards from Cambridge Assessment International Education (Cambridge International) for their exceptional performance in the June 2022 Cambridge examination series.

Students from schools across the country were recognised for their outstanding academic achievements at an awards ceremony at International Convention City, Bashundhara on Friday which is jointly hosted by Cambridge International and the British Council, Bangladesh.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman as the chief guest and Robert Chatterton Dickson, British High Commissioner to Bangladesh as the Special Guest.

71 students in Bangladesh have received the prestigious Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards for their exceptional performance in Cambridge exams in June 2022. The awards recognise success in four categories – ‘Top in the World’, ‘Top in Country’, High Achievement Award’ and ‘Best Across’. Nine students across Bangladesh have won ‘Top in the World’ awards, meaning that they achieved the highest mark in the world in a particular subject.

Out of these 9 winners, 7 students have won the award for their outstanding performance in maths. The students have achieved the awards in a range of individual subjects across Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge O Level and Cambridge International AS & A Level qualifications.

Science and technology minister said: “I would like to congratulate the awardees today on your outstanding achievements. This is a significant achievement. Your achievements in the Cambridge examination is the real testimony of your hard work and your ability to compete in the global level. Congratulations once again. I believe with your Cambridge qualifications some of you will go to the top universities in the world and in the future will be able to contribute to the global level.’’
