The India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) held its 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Conference Room of Nitol-Niloy Centre in Mohakhali on Saturday.
IBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad presided over the AGM where Vice President Shoeb Chowdhury, Vice President Abhisek Das, Secretary General Amit Kumar, Treasurer Dewan Sultan Ahmed and Director Farkhunda Jabeen Khan were present.
During the meeting, Finance and Taxation Standing Committee Chairman Ahsanul Huq Chowdhury highlighted the financial statements and membership growth of the chamber, said a press release.
He also suggested other measures including tax provisions, collection of unpaid subscriptions, tax deduction from payment of salaries of employees and using accounting software for better management of the IBCCI secretariat.
Besides, the AGM participants focused on further development of trade between Bangladesh and India and resolving issues related to visa complications and work permits.
The AGM decided to appoint Hoda Vashi Choudhury and Co as the chamber auditors for the financial year of 2022-23.
Ex-President and Director of IBCCI Mohammad Ali, Secretary General SM Abul Kalam Azad, Directors Al Haj Md Bazlur Rahman, Motiar Rahman, Budhaditya Mukherjee, Md Julfikar Sheikh, Mawlana Yaqub Sharafati, Moshiur Rahman, Sanjay Basu and SK Mahfuz Hamid, Mohammad Mehboob Alam, Tofayel Ahmed, Delowar Hossain, Manoj Kanti, Tapas Kumar Baral, Mohammad Ali Deen, Quamrul Islam, Ahsanul Huq Chowdhury, Nasir Uddin, Shamsuddin Ahmed, Tanveer Alam Khan, Kamrul Hasan and Rubel Hossain also attended the meeting.
