BARVIDA holds AGM in city

The Annual General Meeting (AGM), 2022 of Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (BARVIDA) was held at Officers’ Club in the capital on Friday.

BARVIDA President Md Habib Ullah Dawn chaired the meeting while its secretary general, vice-presidents and the executive committee members were present, said a press release.

Besides, BARVIDA former presidents and secretary generals also joined the meeting along with around 370 members of the Association.

Addressing the meeting, BARVIDA President said that the present executive committee of the association is extending their all-out efforts to develop the reconditioned vehicle sector. The Executive body is trying its best to face the current challenges in the context of preserving 100 per cent L/C marzin for imports as per the Bangladesh Bank circular, he said.        

BARVIDA Secretary General Mohammad Shahidul Islam in his power point presentation highlighted the activities of the Association in the last year while Association’s Treasurer presented details on income and expenditure at the meeting.

The annual budget of the Association was also approved by the members while an auditor for the year 2022-2023 was appointed.       

BARVIDA has been contributing in the country's transport sector by supplying vehicles for more than over three decades. Currently, around 920 enterprises under the BARVIDA membership are operating across the country.

The Association has Tk20,000 crore investment in the transport sector and contribute greatly by paying huge amount of revenue to the government every year.
