Padma Bank updates core banking system

Padma Bank Limited has upgraded its core banking system in order to provide its customers with safe and quick banking services.

The bank has now entered the fully digital world by migrating to the core banking solution (CBS) of FloraBank, said a press release.

Padma Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Tarek Reaz Khan formally inaugurated this new state-of-the-art CBS through a programme organised at Mirpur Learning and Talent Development Centre in Dhaka on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Tarek Reaz Khan said that with the launch of this state-of-the-art core banking solution, customers can now enjoy modern, secure, reliable, and hassle-free banking services.

He also said new and upgraded versions of Padma Wallet, Internet Banking, Agent Banking, Utility Bill Collection, e-KYC, and other apps have also been launched to provide digital banking convenience to customers on their internet screens.

The bank’s senior management team, including Deputy Managing Director Faisal Ahsan Chowdhury and Chief Human Resource Officer and CCO M Ahsan Ullah Khan, were present at the inauguration ceremony.

Flora System Limited Chairman and Managing Director Mustafa Rafiqul Islam and senior officers from various departments of the company were also present.

Padma Bank’s banking operations were halted from December 21 to December 25 due to a core system update. From Monday, customers are receiving banking services through this state-of-the-art service, said the release.

Padma Bank Limited will be able to complete customer loans, deposits, and other banking services with assurance and efficient security through FloraBank software developed by 100 per cent professional and skilled Bangladeshi engineers, the release added.
