Mobile filmmaking workshop ends at ULAB

A four-day long mobile filmmaking workshop jointly organised by the Dhaka International Film Festival (DIMFF) and Science Film Festival came to an end on December 31.

The workshop was held on December 23, 24, 30, and 31 at the campus of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) in Dhaka, said a press release.

The Goethe Institute Bangladesh was a subsidiary institution of the workshop. Apart from film production materials, the free workshop also included transportation and food for trainees and teacher representatives.

The workshop was attended by a total of 20 students from the JAAGO Foundation, Rayer Bazar School, and KK Foundation. After hands-on training, students produced films on the theme ‘Equal Rights in Science’ at this girls-only event.

Four films produced by the students were premiered on the last day. DIMFF Advisor Mohammad Shazzad Hossain and Instructor Zahid Gogon were present at the premiere. On the last day of the 9th Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival, certificates will be given out.

Syeda Sadia Mehjabin, DIMFF's advisor, gave a vote of thanks at the end of the four-day workshop. After the main programme, a cultural segment was held by the school students.

The 9th edition of the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival (DIMFF 2023) is going to be held on

March 3-4, 2023.

DIMFF started its journey in 2015 with the motto "New Generation, New Technology, and New Communication" and aims to encourage filmmaking through mobile phones.
