A 15-day long admission fair of Sonargaon University started on Green Road and Mohakhali campuses on Tuesday.
University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Abul Bashar inaugurated the fair while Arts and Humanities Faculty Dean Prof Dr MA Mabud and former Treasurer Prof Al-Amin Molla were present, said a press release.
On the inauguration day, parents, guardians and students thronged at the fair to get various data related to admission while the university officials provided them with the necessary information. The admission fair will remain open for visitors from 10 am to 5 pm daily till January 31.
The fair is offering special concessions in admission in 20 subjects of 12 departments under the faculty of Science and Engineering, Business and Arts and Humanities. Apart from that, there will be a 50 to 100 per cent discount on the tuition fees based on the SSC and HSC/ Diploma exam results. Besides, the event is also offering scholarships based on the results of each semester's examinations as per the university rules.
Marking the fair, an official of Sonargaon University said, “Our university is providing evening shifts along with day shifts aiming to benefit students of diploma degree who work during the day.”
Besides, students can pursue their higher education at a minimum reasonable cost while faculty members are very friendly to resolve any academic issues of students, he said, adding that, all departments of the university also have laboratories.
Director of Finance and Accounts Md Mesbaul Hossain, Controller of Examinations (Acting) and Director (Addl.) of Admission and Development Md Omar Faruque Molla, Director of Planning and Development Md Golam Mostafa, Director (Audit) Md Tarek Mahmud, Director of Student Welfare Division Kazi Zulkarnain Sultan Alam, PRO Nahid Hasan, heads of all departments and other professors and teachers were also present at the programme.
